'Nakwaxda'xw Speaker Mask by Kwakwaka’wakw artist Walter George of the 'Nakwaxda’xw Nation. This mask is hand-carved in red cedar and is painted in black, dark green and red acrylic with a 'sooty' finish applied to the finished surface. The tool-marked surface provides a lovely textured finish to this piece. The mask is enhanced by the addition of cedar bark bundles on the top, sides, and bottom of the mask.
This substantial mask is about 15 inches or 38 cm in height, 11 inches or 28 cm in width and about 9.5 inches or 24 cm in depth.
